What to bring to your DIY construction party- Centerville Location.

WE ASK THAT YOU PROVIDE:
(If Working at Our Centerville Location)

Please bring your own ribbon to wrap around the stems of the bouquets. Three yards of ribbon per bouquet should be enough. We recommend ribbon that is 1 to 2 inches in width for best results. We do have a limited selection of ribbon for sale if you forget to bring your own. Double-sided satin works well for bouquets, or if you prefer, a sheer would work as well. You will also need to bring one bow (3 to 4 inches in diameter) for each corsage. We ask that your bows be made ahead of time, as they are time-consuming and our DIY coaches do not teach bow making. If you don’t know anyone who can put together corsage bows for you ahead of time, our Do-It-Yourself coaches would be happy to make the bows for you with a bit of prior notice and for a small fee. Please let us know at your consultation if you will need us to help you make your bows. If you choose to pre-make your own corsage bows, a narrower ribbon (1/2 inch in width or less) typically works the best. The ribbon can be satin, sheer, wired, metallic… whatever you prefer. You will need approximately 3 yards of ribbon for each corsage bow.

Also, please remember to bring any additional embellishments, such as rhinestones, bouquet jewels, marbles, stones, decorative leaves, branches, or artificial pieces that you plan on using during the construction of your wedding flowers. Please note that if you are planning on creating exceptionally large arrangements (using tall branches such as curly willow, for example), you may be asked to hold off on completing the arrangements until arriving at the venue. Space in our facility and cooler can be limited due to the high volume of weddings we have in one weekend, so please respect the wishes of your DIY coach if she asks you to wait and put the sizable pieces or high-reaching branches into the arrangements at a later time.

You will need to provide your own vases to place your bouquets in for storage and transport. Please bring one vase per bouquet, and don’t forget your toss bouquet! These vases can be the ones that you plan on using for the head table at your reception, or if you prefer, they may be any assortment of vases you have on hand. Keep in mind that your vases need to be in proportion to your bouquets and other flowers and must be able to stand up and balance without tipping over. For bridal and bridesmaid bouquets, a vase approximately 9 inches high and 4 inches in diameter typically works best. Your vases will be safe in our coolers. As you finish your bouquets and arrangements, we will help you box everything up for easy storage and transportation. If you happen to forget your vases, we do have some available for purchase. Please understand that we will not let you “borrow” buckets or vases. This has become too confusing in the past, and often times our items are never paid for or returned.

Finally, you may wish to bring along an extra vase or small bucket in case you have any leftover flowers at the end of your construction time. If you can, please bring along a newspaper or two so that your vases and bouquets can be properly packaged and secured for transport.
